I bought my first boat when I was in my early twenties. It had an old 2-stroke engine and needed work. I, like everyone else, had to take it in to the dealer only to get it back and on first trip to the water break down. Upon returning to the dealer, I was put at the rear of the line and lost my boat for weeks at a time. After several trips into the dealership, I finally decided to try to fix my boat myself by removing the cowling and standing there with a dumb look on my face. I was clueless and I felt helpless as I couldn't do anything for it. I have retained that memory and see that look on customers faces today. I remember the helpless feeling I had. I love what I do so I make a trip to the repair shop as painless and affordable as possible . I have a big thing in common with my customers, "i don't have money falling from my pockets either", so I try my best not to waste any money but fix what needs fixing and advising on less pushing matters to be repaired later. I live the saying treat others as you want to be treated and it has served me well.

I also have a saying I live by, "you are only a customer once", after that you are a friend with a boat.
